Letter from Coach 2026

Lane Tech Players & Families,

My name is Coach Cashion, and I want to officially welcome everyone to the 2026 Lane Tech Lacrosse season.

We are extremely excited about the year ahead. The growth and energy around this program continues to build, and this spring will be about establishing a disciplined, competitive, and connected team that represents Lane Tech the right way — on and off the field.

Please review the full tryout week schedule below carefully.

Tryout Week Schedule

All sessions will take place in the Lane Tech Stadium.

(All times are subject to change.)

Monday

Varsity Tryout – 6:00–7:30 AM

Tuesday

Varsity Tryout – 6:00–7:30 AM

Wednesday

Varsity Tryout – 5:30–7:30 PM

Thursday

JV Tryout – 6:00–7:30 AM

Varsity First Official Practice – 5:30–7:30 PM

Friday

JV Tryout – 6:00–7:30 AM

Varsity Practice – 5:30–7:30 PM

A form will be sent to all players indicating which team (Varsity or JV) they would like to try out for. Please complete this promptly once received so we can properly organize evaluations.

Player Meeting - Thursday, 2/26/2026

Tomorrow’s meeting is team-led and highly recommended, though not mandatory.

This meeting is designed to set the tone for the season from within the locker room. We will discuss:

 • Program standards

 • Team expectations

 • Leadership and accountability

 • What it means to represent Lane Tech Lacrosse

All players will be required to sign a Lane Tech Lacrosse Code of Conduct, outlining team standards and accountability. This will be formally reviewed before the first official practice to ensure full alignment across the program.

Freshman Player Meeting – Friday, 2/27/2026

Freshmen will have a dedicated meeting Friday to introduce the program, coaching staff, expectations, and culture as they begin their Lane lacrosse journey.

Communication Expectations

Communication is not optional.

If a player cannot attend any portion of tryouts, that must be communicated to me as soon as possible. Commitment and accountability are part of the evaluation process.

Important Reminders

 • Arrive 15 minutes early minimum.

 • Full equipment is required for all field sessions.

 • Bring water daily.

 • Sticks should be game-ready and labeled.

This season will be competitive. Roles will be earned. Standards will be upheld.

We are building a program defined by discipline, accountability, and pride in wearing Lane across our chest.

Excited to get started.

Best,

Coach Cashion
